MASSAWA, ERITREA - 1991: Mengistu Haile Mariam was the most prominent officer of the Derg, the military junta that governed Ethiopia from 1974 to 1987, and the President of the People's Democratic Republic of Ethiopia from 1987 to 1991. The streets were quiet in Manila other than a small protest against the 'State of Rebellion' declared two days ago by Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. The declaration was issued in the capital city after May Day protests against the imprisonment of former President Joseph Estrada turned violent and six people were killed.  BELOW MASS KILLING BY SUHARTO -INDONESIA

Suharto was a five-star general who had gained power through a violent coup in 1966 and whose forces were at the time conducting a genocide campaign in East Timor, After Suharto assumed control over Indonesia, hundreds of thousands of PKI members and alleged civilian affiliates were immediately arrested and executed. State terror soon followed for decades. Overall, well over a million people would be killed under Suharto’s autocratic rule of Indonesia. In the East Timor genocide alone, 200,000 out of a population of 700,000 would be killed. Despite this, the United States under Carter and Clinton supported him as an anti-communist leader in the Cold War.

Nothing in the Party stooges' prior experience prepared them for the sudden resistance of the people who had tasted freedom. And at the forefront of that resistance towered Boris Yeltsin, Russia's first freely elected president.

The Brazilian coup, depicted at the time as a victory for constitutional democracy, kicked off a series of extreme right-wing military coups against democratically elected governments throughout the Southern Cone of Latin America and beyond. Brazil was turned into a base for subversion of neighboring democratic governments; Goulart and a previous Brazilian president, Juscelino Kubitschek, both died in 1976 in incidents that have since been attributed to the multinational assassination program

Newly declassified US State Department documents (2010) reveal beyond any doubt that the US paid nearly half a million dollars to support the 1971 rightwing military coup of Hugo Banzer, the monster seen above left with Augusto Pinochet. Just one more crazy commie conspiracy theory about the Great Satan proven true."
